I recently had a beautiful realization and download one morning from my spirit team after practicing Kriya Yoga meditation.
I asked one of my guides named Dorin (a 7th dimensional entity), if there is anything I should know. Their response was, “nothing you don’t already know.”
While this may seem glib, I actually love how the spirits and guides communicate with you to always allow you to choose what is within you for your Highest Good on your own path.
Immediately, I thought to a recent text I saw from a friend who I hadn’t spoken to in months. She was telling me of an impressive #1 accolade she received.
As I picked up on this, I immediately reflected it back inwards. Where do I feel the need for this external validation again in my life?
After chasing after it for years as an investment banker, I thought I left all of that behind me when I transitioned into my new life.
Then it became clear as day – TEDx. I have recently been working hard behind the scenes to land a TEDx talk to elevate my brand, receive accolades, the push the next frontier of accomplishment for myself.
Even in the spiritual world, “the game” can pull you right back in. As you evolve, so does your ego and psyche.
I asked Dorin in this meditation, “How can I let go of my material desires more?”
The message was beautiful, simple, and a little tongue-in-cheek (per usual) – “You simply, let go.”
It’s a message and advice many would roll their eyes over, because it is easier said than done.
But the fact of the matter is…. It IS that easy.
You simply choose and decide to let it go. Literally, that easy.
They brought in an analogy into my life as it relates to our world.
Imagine a ship you were on is sinking in the middle of the ocean. You have your life vest on, and are holding onto the ship for dear life.
As a few hours pass, the ship is now ready to completely submerge.
You are still hanging onto the ship for dear life, afraid that if you let go you will be out there in the middle of the water with nothing “solid” to hold onto.
If you keep holding onto the ship, the outcome is quite apparent – you will be dragged underwater with the sinking vessel and drown.
However, the fear of letting go is so strong; because the ocean is vast, cold, rough, and unknown creatures lurk unseen behind its misty blue veil.
Yet the part that you don’t remember is that if you let go, you allow for Divine Intervention to take place beyond what your fearful mind is capable of thinking of in the moment.
Being in open water (as opposed to under the water with the sinking ship), a passing vessel has the opportunity to spot you on a search mission. You will be picked up and taken to shore, leading you to a new opportunity you would have never perceived if you had simply chosen to hang onto the ship for dear life.
Letting go is as simple as making the choice to let go. What gets in the way is being afraid of fear of the unknown.
Oftentimes only when the ship is going down and we are faced with imminent death are we actually able to let go.
Letting go isn’t giving up of anything, but rather a surrender into a vast ocean which holds gifts of salvation we can rarely understand with our limited perception.
In the words of the metaphysical text A Course in Miracles, “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” All this means is that only love is real. Anything else rooted in fear is simply an illusion.
If all is unfolding out of love for you, you are only being pulled forward and redirected for your Highest Good through the life situations you face. This includes knowing when to let go. Your choice to give into fearful thoughts is what then creates further separation from your innate Oneness by feeding into the illusion of material creation.
Making the choice to let go and holding steadfast to it, is all it takes.
With this, I personally CHOOSE to let go of my attachment to landing a TEDx as an outcome, and now choose to write my talk as a joyful art free of expectation. Making it into something that is a fun project for me to grow my own ability to connect and relate to people, not for the material result it may or may not bring me. There is no outcome. There is only being.
Take a moment to reflect on your life – what is one thing you want to make the choice to let go of?
