Is drinking alcohol unspiritual, not good spiritual hygiene, or downright bad?
Let me set the stage and come clean right off the bat.
I used to get absolutely $h*!faced every weekend in college and also as an investment banker.
I loved going out to bars, clubs, and restaurants drinking with friends.
A shift took place in my life suddenly in November 2022 (roughly a year and a half since I began channeling angels) when I noticed alcohol closed off my ability to channel angels, God, and Higher Guidance.
It persisted the for the next day too with a severe hangover after only two glasses of wine!
It was a simple decision for me to make. Either I drink alcohol or I channel angels?
The experiences I have channeling are far too meaningful to ever give up in favor of alcohol. So like that, I was done with the old regular partyboy drinking lifestyle I had.
I’ve heard that some indigenous and native cultures call them ‘spirits’ because they believe it makes you susceptible to the possession of spirits.
Which makes sense as alcohol is directly processed by the liver, which is associated with the emotion of anger in traditional Chinese medicine, and can quite literally “make you a different person.”
When not confronted with an immediate reason to not drink, it can be easy to wonder if drinking alcohol is not spiritual.
If we come back to full awareness of all of life – nothing is either bad or good, it simply is.
The egoic mind chooses to characterize it one way or another, because that is the only way for it to make sense of perspectives and scales in this world of finite duality.
Because of that overarching reason, I don’t believe drinking alcohol is inherently bad.
As with everything, I believe moderation, balance, and intention are the keys.
For example, even though I’m not a drinker, if I go to a famous Italian wine region, I may indulge in a glass of wine to enjoy the region’s culture and local produce.
I’m not drinking to lose my inhibitions and feel the rush of liquid confidence like in the past.
I don’t believe anything is inherently “not spiritual” – such as meat, alcohol, etc.
Religions like Christianity drink wine to represent the blood of Christ, and even further back, followers of the Greek God Dionysus would regularly drink wine as an offering and religious rite to the God.
I believe everyone has different things that work for them, and that is absolutely okay.
In the end, it comes down to WHY you are doing what you are doing, how it makes you feel, and if it is in alignment with your values.
If you’re ready to bring greater intention schedule a call with me below to have someone to hold you accountable.
